Omega just announced five new special watches. More interesting though was the announcement that “very soon the entire range of Omega Watches will be Master Chronometer certified” said Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of Omega. “This important moment will mark the “complete changeover a new generation of precision and reliability never seen in the industry before.”
What we think people will like most? The new Seamaster 300
The new Seamaster 300 is quite a surprise. It has a very nice vintage-looking aesthetic, and it also has a sandwich dial! The dial is clean and precise, and makes good use of the sandwich design thanks to the sharpness of the hands and indices. There is no mention of the movement on the dial, it is only on the back, with the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912 on display through the sapphire crystal caseback. Domed sapphire crystal on the front completes the look along with a wider window thanks to a thinner inner frame. The watch has four references and comes in dials of blue or black and two types of bracelet/strap.
The main event of the new Seamaster 300 is in Bronze Gold, and it is stunning. An excellent combination of colors provides a very nice vintage look and a real reason to go to precious metal. This unique alloy, hallmarked at 9k, uses palladium silver and gold to create its unique color. It is meant to look back upon an alloy known as Corinthian gold but with all the modern sciences come to bear. It meets no coating and is able to have direct contact to the skin with no issues.
