A new limited-edition watch honors Seiko’s heritage and Japanese craftsmanship.
Seiko Presage, renowned for its blend of Japanese aesthetics, traditional craftsmanship, and mechanical watchmaking, has partnered with the esteemed Japanese fashion brand Porter Classic to create a new enamel-dialed watch. This collaboration celebrates Seiko’s rich heritage and Porter Classic’s commitment to high-quality products that blend traditional techniques with modern design.
Founded by Katsuyuki Yoshida and his son, Leo Yoshida, Porter Classic has established itself as a leader in Japanese fashion. Their dedication to creating items that can be passed down through generations aligns perfectly with Seiko’s philosophy of long-lasting performance. The partnership aims to create a timepiece that embodies the essence of both brands, combining Seiko’s watchmaking expertise with Porter Classic’s distinctive aesthetic.
Drawing inspiration from Seiko’s iconic Laurel wristwatch, the new creation showcases a simple yet elegant dial design. The round case shape and proportions echo those of traditional pocket watches from the early 20th century, while the black enamel dial adds a touch of sophistication. Crafted by master enamel craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa, each dial is a testament to the artistry and precision that goes into creating these exquisite timepieces.
The watch features a 24-hour sub-dial at the six o’clock position, a nod to the original Laurel’s design. The delicate hands and Arabic numerals are faithfully reproduced, while the moveable rounded lugs add a touch of vintage charm. The black cordovan pull-through strap is a perfect complement to the watch’s overall aesthetic, and a brown strap is also included.
The Seiko Presage x Porter Classic collaboration comes in a special Jubako-style presentation box, designed to hold both the watch and the additional strap. The elegant, stacking box reflects Porter Classic’s commitment to refined design.
Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, this exceptional timepiece is a testament to the enduring power of collaboration and the timeless appeal of Japanese craftsmanship.
